ABERDEEN ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD ANNOUNCES WINNERS
OF 16TH ANNUAL FAMILY FISHING CONTEST 

ABERDEEN TOWNSHIP (5/5/09) – Approximately 40 families packed the beach at Cliffwood Beach Park to compete in The Aberdeen Township Environmental and Shade Tree Advisory Board’s 16th Annual Aberdeen Family Fishing Contest on May 2.

Trophies were awarded to first, second, and third place finishers in three groups: Adults (18 and over), Teens (13-18), and Children (under 13). Winners of the 2009 event were:

Adult Category:
1st Place:  Steve Donahue, Tobyhana, Pa., catch of approximately 12 pounds
2nd Place: Ted Ruckstuhl, Aberdeen, N.J.
3rd Place:  Oscar Ferreira, Carteret, N.J.

Teens:
1st Place: James Munro (age 15) Aberdeen, N.J. (biggest fish for all age groups at approximately 14
pounds)
2nd Place: Ed "House" Karecki, Aberdeen, N.J.
3rd Place: Nick Crispino, Aberdeen, N.J.

Children:
1st Place: Corey Laurence, (age 7) Howell, N.J.
2nd Place: Deevany Ruiz, (age 5) Perth Amboy, N.J.
3rd Place: Eli Gries-Smith (age 5) Aberdeen, N.J.
