Clean Communities
Aberdeen Township participates annually in the statewide Clean Communities Program. The primary focus of this program is to promote litter reduction through the implementation of local-level efforts that incorporate the elements of litter pick-up and removal, education, and enforcement.

Health

The Public Safety Department is composed of Emergency Medical Services, Fire District 1, the Office of Emergency Management, the Police Department, and Aberdeen-Matawan CERT.

The Public Works Department consists of two divisions, which respond to the resident complaints and are also responsible for the operation and maintenance of roads, parks, recycling and trash pick-up, administration buildings and grounds, water distribution system and the sanitary sewer collection system.

Registrar of Vital Statistics
The Registrar of Vital Statistics is charged with recording, maintaining, and making available all records of birth, marriage, Civil Unions and deaths occurring in the Township of Aberdeen.

Tax Assessor
The Assessor’s office provides the information necessary to ensure an accurate valuation of properties and equitable distribution of the real estate tax levy, so that all taxpayers pay their fair share of the obligations of the schools, the county and the municipality.

The Tax Collector bills and collects all property taxes as established by the Tax Assessor.
