2023 Construction/Housing/Code Enforcement Summary

            Aberdeen Township continues its joint forces in a shared service agreement with Matawan Borough. Aberdeen Township handles all permit applications , business licenses as well as zoning and Code Enforcement for The Borough of Matawan. 

            To date the Housing Department of Aberdeen has issued 704 certificates for resale and rentals and has collected $105,600 in fees. 

            The construction department has conducted 3982 inspections for Aberdeen Township and 1201 for Matawan Borough. 2605 Inspections were performed by Building Subcode, 1411 inspections were peformed by the Electrical Subcode, 1437 inspections were performed by the Plumbing Subcode and 714 inspections performed by the Fire Subcode.

            The department has collected $625,327 in construction fees for Aberdeen and $198,968 for Matawan Borough totaling $824,295

             Aberdeen has issued 30 new Business certifictaes in the amount of $5250.00 and for Matawan 57 new Business certificates in the amount of $4275.00 

            The zoning department has issued 277 zoning applications in the amount of $18035.00 for Aberdeen Township and 99 zoning applications for Matawan Borough totaling $6435.00. 

            Aberdeen Township has adopted a new ordinance for Dumpster permits and have collected $1110.00 in fees for Dumpster permits issued.
